Lush and luscious,
delicate
flower
unfolding
straining
toward
life
bestowed
by the warmth of
other
the power of
touch
from a star
which burns
which burns
in air too
thin.

My friend Julie Daley takes the most amazing pictures of flowers. Georgia O'Keefe has nothing on this woman. And oh yeah, she writes too. Her words and her images invoke the numinous power of other, something beyond, the wild and wanton nature of the divine. If all of this doesn't get your creative juices flowing, I don't know what will. Her pictures and her words light the fire and take me to places of deep feeling, inspiring words like these above. Who inspires your creativity? What outlet do you use to express the creative nature that is your birthright?
Renae, Your poem is exquisite and evocative. I am honored to have my image next to your powerful words. You inspire me. I am so happy that we are soul sisters. love you.
ReplyDeleteLife without soul sisters wouldn't be much of a life. I think we look pretty great side by side. Thanks for standing beside me.
